Bill aims to Tax Radio for Music

COLUMBUS, Ohio —Broadcast radio stations are one step closer to being forced to pay for the music they play.

House Bill 848 was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Thursday and will now move on to a full House vote.

The bill would require AM/FM radio stations to pay artists & record labels a fee—a tax stations are strongly resisting.
